STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN

Stairway to Heaven (Haiku Stairs), otherwise known as one of the most amazing hikes on the island of Oahu. It's actually more like climbing a million stairs vertically up a mountain and having your life depend on this railing on both sides of you to hold onto for dear life rather than a hike.

 

We started at one in the morning, mainly because this hike is illegal and there is a guard that doesn't allow trespassing. So, if you go early enough you're guaranteed to get by (: 

The journey up took us about 2-2 1/2 hours. The majority of it being in the dark. It's not straight up the whole time, there are a few platforms along the way to stop and rest.

 

When we made it to the top it was still somewhat dark and FREEZING! We all cuddled in the bunker and tried to sleep out the time till sunrise. However, I'd say there was definitely more jumping around and dancing rather than sleeping. Haha we tried to enjoy ourselves best we could.

 The sun finally rose, and despite the cloudiness the view was still spectacular. Luckily for us we were able to share it with some of our greatest friends. :)

 

Going down was awesome and somewhat scary because we were actually able to see that there really wasn't much on either sides of us.

Cam rode the railings all the way down ;) Just kidding, no chance I would have let him do that!
